We are very happy to announce in our very first blog that Old Trapper is drastically expanding their plant in 2018! Old Trapper has been a family run business for 45 years and is now the fastest growing brand in the meat snack industry. Old Trapper’s flavor and consistency is time tested, and the consumer just loves Old Trapper beef jerky!
For the past 5 years Old Trapper has out paced the industry growth by over 300%. Seeing this the family went to work purchasing the land around their existing 35,000 square foot plant in early 2015. To build a state of the art production facility that would enable Old Trapper to be a leader in the meat snack industry!
They finalized the deal and broke ground in 2016 on a new 80,000 square foot production facility and added 60,000 square feet of new warehouses to enable them to expand production capacity in the current plant. Plus they are adding a number of new ovens or smokehouses in this huge facility. Old Trapper is one of the few remaining meat snack companies that actually smoke the jerky instead of using liquid smoke.
The family is investing over $35 million in this state of the art plant that will be one of the best in the world and enable Old Trapper to continue to keep up with the Overwhelming demand!
