This is the latest information from a periodical that discusses the value of the Big Bag jerky and who is doing what in the Convenience store world. This is based off scan data!
While traditional jerky still dominates the category, consumers are starting to move towards extra-large sized bags. Large bag jerky (representing 5 ounces or more) is a big contributor to driving growth within the meat snacks category, representing 77% of the total jerky unit growth. This reflects an increase of 48% in sales or $39.4 million dollars since June of last year. Large bag jerky includes lines such as Old Trapper, Cattleman’s Cut and Legend’s which provide larger offerings of jerky to super heavy users at a good price per ounce.

The numbers speak for themselves. Old Trapper Big Bag is most profitable part of the whole meat snack section! Wait until the new plant is opened to see what we can do!
